It is with heavy hearts that we, the Orange County African American Historical Society, extend our deepest condolences on the passing of a true community pillar, Mr. George Long. His loss is profoundly felt by all who knew him, and his impact on our community will forever be remembered.
Mr. Long was not only well known but also a genuine humanitarian, dedicating his life to the betterment of those around him. In 2019, the Orange County African American Historical Society had the privilege of honoring Mr. Long and his wife for their outstanding contributions by presenting them with the esteemed Eclipse Award.
To Mrs. Ruth Long and the entire family, we offer our heartfelt sympathy during this difficult time. We recognize and appreciate the profound impact the Long family has had on our community, and we share in the sorrow of losing such an esteemed individual. The Board of Directors and membership express our gratitude for the Long family's enduring contributions. Mr. George Long's legacy as a humanitarian and community leader will continue to inspire us all.
