On Monday, February 10, Mrs. Conley's local history class had the opportunity to hear from guest speaker Bruce Monroe, president of the Orange County African American Historical Society. Mr. Monroe spoke about the role of African Americans before and after the Civil War, as well as early businesses and notable figures such as Andrew Maples Jr. and Edna Lewis.
